Senior Producer Introduces Supernatural In New Blog Post

The Sims 3 Supernatural Senior Producer Kari St. John has posted a new blog entry on TheSims3.com in which he gives a sneak-peek at what to expect in the expansion:

In The Sims 3 Supernatural, I am able to create Sims that can be any of the supernaturals: modern or classic versions of witches, werewolves, fairies and vampires. It’s easy to come up with some really wild families and households. I personally like to create a werewolf Sim in Create A Sim and what’s really cool is creating supernatural children. For example, I created a little werewolf child, who is not only really cute, but loves to howl, scratch and practice hunting when no one is looking.

Interview With Producer Explains A Bit More About Supernatural

An interview with The Sims 3 Supernatural producer Kari St. John has been posted on TheSims3.com, which I think includes some additional details compared to his own blog post (above):

7. Do I have to play as a supernatural? Can I play as a normal Sim?
Kari:
You have the option to play as a supernatural or as an ordinary Sim living in the eerie new world of Moonlight Falls. However you choose to play, you can opt to dabble in magical crafts, building your career as a mystic fortune teller or developing your alchemic skills to brew elixirs with potent effects. Elixirs give you the power to turn other Sims into zombies, boost your learning abilities to acquire skills faster and more.

New Poll: Do you still regularly play The Sims 2? Or even 1?

In the latest poll I’m wondering whether any of you still play The Sims 2, or even The Sims 1. Vote with explanation if you fancy explaining why you still play The Sims 2, for example. You can vote to the right of any page. If I’ve received enough votes by then, the poll will close on Tuesday 3rd July with the results revealed then.

Graham Nardone Talks Game Updates, More In New Blog Post

The Sims 3 assistant producer Graham Nardone has posted a new blog entry on TheSims3.com in which he discusses game updates, bug reporting, listening to comments and more:

From time to time, we provide an update to The Sims 3, which helps to improve your game. We incorporate design improvements, including some that have been suggested by Simmers, as well as fixes for outstanding issues. Anything from obscure bugs we have found and fixed to driver updates and also new hardware support can be included in these updates. As you can imagine, game updates are complex and play a major role in our testing and engineering process as each change has to work across all variations of The Sims 3 products. We have a very dedicated QA team that continuously strives for accuracy and efficiency in identifying, understanding and implementing what needs to go into these updates.
