Graham Nardone Talks Aliens In Seasons

Producer Graham Nardone has posted a new blog entry on detailing the aliens in The Sims 3 Seasons:

Clearly, aliens are powerful beings all on their own, but you can unlock some of their more powerful abilities through the use of their UFO. A UFO is an alien’s preferred vehicle for zipping quickly around town, but it’s much more versatile than a simple vehicle. As they pilot the UFO, aliens can abduct their friends as a practical joke, although the abductee may not find it quite as funny (perhaps probing them afterwards would lighten the mood).

Maxis Live Broadcast Demos Seasons, Reveals 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, Hints At Next Expansion Pack

If you missed the Maxis Live Broadcast entirely, or just missed the beginning because they took their time adding the player to the UK page (me), it’s now available to watch on demand right here. There’s a demo of The Sims 3 Seasons three minutes in, but that’s not all — a new town to be made available on The Sims 3 Store was revealed about one hour nine and a half minutes in; a free magazine for iPads and Android tablets was announced about one hour seven and a half minutes in; the next stuff pack, to be called 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, was revealed about one hour 12 minutes in; plus there was a bit of a hint of the next expansion pack right at the end.

Supernatural Reviews Wrap-Up

It's time to conclude my The Sims 3 Supernatural reviews, so now is a good time to see how this expansion compares to its predecessors through the medium of Metacritic and GameRankings.

But first, I do have one last review for you -- has rated it eight out of 10:

I can really only recommend this to fans of the supernatural, as the expansion completely alters the game dynamics. If that’s you, then plenty of new modes and customizations make this expansion well worth the extra dough.

The Metascore at Metacritic currently stands at 71, and there's probably not much chance of that changing much now. This is lower than the base game's 'score of 86, but this is true of all the expansion packs. This is also lower though than most of the expansion packs, with only Showtime (67) and Generations (70) getting lower Metascores. It's also lower than the 'scores attained by all The Sims 2 expansion packs.

Metacritic sources (with specific Metascores):

The probably pretty-much-final Ranking at GameRankings is 77.12%. This is lower than that attained by the base game, but no expansion pack has exceeded that. It's higher than the Rankings attained by Showtime, Generations and Ambitions, but lower than the other three. Comparing to The Sims 2 expansion packs, this has a higher Ranking than Nightlife, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage and FreeTime, with only University, Open for Business and Apartment Life having higher Rankings.

So this concludes my reviews coverage -- I will not post news about any future reviews I come across, but they will still be added to the game page with that update mentioned in the Latest Updates box.

There have not been enough votes in the poll (Are you happy about how werewolves in The Sims 3 Supernatural look in "wolf" form, or would you prefer them to look more like proper wolves?) to display results yet -- vote now if you haven't already on the right of the home page
