Latest Supernatural Reviews: TheGamersHub

Tuesday 25th September 2012 | 11:59 am UK time | Categories

TheGamersHub brings us the latest The Sims 3 Supernatural review, giving it four out of five:

Overall, however, there’s way more good in this game  than bad. It’s a ton of fun to play and I really enjoyed  it. Die-hard Sims fans who loved the way things were may  not enjoy it as much, but for those looking for some  extended casual fun this has great potential to be a  favorite game.

The Metascore at Metacritic has gone down a point to 68, “Mixed or average reviews”, based on 10 reviews, while The Rankling at GameRankings remains 76.71% based on seven reviews.

The latest The Sims 3 Supernatural review comes from The Gamer Scene, who rated it the full five stars out of five:

This expansion had practically no downside for someone  wanting to add a little spice (or with regards to the  ghost chili, a LOT of spice) to their game, even if they  don’t want to experience the supernaturals.

Latest Supernatural Reviews: NZGamer.com, IGN

Thursday 20th September 2012 | 2:31 pm UK time | Categories

Two new The Sims 3 Supernatural reviews today, with very different scores. NZGamer.com first, giving it a “Great” 8.5 out of 10:

I’ve been playing Supernatural for the better part of a  week now, and it’s still surprising and delighting me  with its cheery take on magic, horror and gothic. It’s  an expansion in the very best sense, and now up at the  top of my list of Sims 3 must-haves. Definitely  recommended.

The second review comes from IGN, which has a very different opinion to other reviews so far (which have all been positive), giving it a “Bad” 4.5 out of 10:

Supernatural doesn’t augment your Sims or make the  neighborhood more interesting: it turns it into an unrecognizable mess that doesn’t even come close to resembling the “life simulator” it’s supposed to be.

Mostly as a result of that review, the Metascore at Metacritic has plunged five points to 69, “Mixed or average reviews”, based on nine reviews, and the Ranking at GameRankings has gone down from 77.50% last time to 73.33% based on six reviews.

Seasons Producer Discusses “Fall” In New Blog Post

Wednesday 19th September 2012 | 11:09 pm UK time | Categories

The Sims 3 Seasons assistant producer Alan Hsu has posted a new blog entry on TheSims3.com discussing “Fall”, the season properly known as Autumn:

First and foremost, during the Fall season, there will be a haunted house at the festival where Sims can explore strange paranormal happenings, it’s a rabbit hole but still a lot of fun. Sims who are not brave enough haves a chance to panic, vomit, or may even have a little bladder accident. Sims who are unlucky, or lucky depending on your point of view, may receive a “Cursed by the Witch” buff which temporarily changes them into a ghost when they leave the haunted house.

GamesRadar Has A Look At “Fall” In Seasons

Tuesday 18th September 2012 | 11:51 pm UK time | Categories

GamesRadar has posted a new The Sims 3 Seasons preview looking at “fall” (autumn to give it its proper name):

Pumpkin patch

Finding the perfect pumpkin is just one of the many family-friendly activities you can do in the fall. There’s nothing like running through rows upon rows of slightly distorted pumpkins to find that one with the flawless side to carve. In the Sims 3 Seasons, you’ll be able to bring a bright orange melon home and put a knife to it, creating a perfect (or not-so-perfect if you fail) jack-o-lantern for your front porch.

The latest The Sims 3 Supernatural review comes from Impulse Gamer, who gave it 8.0 out of 10:

EA should be commended on another fun Sims adventure with great gameplay and graphics. My one wish for this franchise is to make The Sims franchise online which would combine all the elements of the games into one mega social experience. Nonetheless, The Sims 3 Supernatural is a must have game to all fans of this series!

The Sims In Number 33 In 1UP.com’s Essential 100

Monday 17th September 2012 | 9:01 pm UK time | Categories

1UP.com is counting down the 100 most important video games of all time, and at number 33 is The Sims:

I’d be willing to bet that a lot of you found yourself in a similar situation that I did back in 2000. The Sims caused me to become fused to my monitor as I developed a sort of digital OCD for my virtual family. I had to make sure that their house was spotless, their lives were perfect, and their futures were bright. I spent hours upon hours pecking away at my mouse to meet this goal, until suddenly it hit me: Why was I cleaning up a virtual room when my actual room needed cleaning?

Latest Supernatural Reviews: El33tonline

Monday 17th September 2012 | 12:17 pm UK time | Categories

The latest The Sims 3 Supernatural review comes from El33tonline, who gave it an “Excellent!” four stars out of five:

Creating new and exciting families of ghosts and fairies  is now a reality. It is a pity that the game is not as  hard hitting as proper zombie, vampire and werewolf  games can and should be, but it still is a whole lot of  fun.

The Metascore at Metacritic remains 73 based on five reviews.
