90s In 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff Discussed In New Blog Post

Friday 18th January 2013 | 8:26 pm UK time | Categories

The 90s in The Sims 3 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff are discussed in a new blog entry on TheSims3.com:

Video games, hip hop music and talk shows were all the rage in the 90s. But grunge was really where it was at. Although grunge music was first introduced in the 80s, it became commercially successful in the 90s and sparked a new wave of generational lifestyle. Inspired by this, The Sims Studio wanted to focus the 90s portion of this stuff pack on the unkempt and industrial look of the grunge 90s in both clothing and home décor.

There are some really great clothing assets for women in this decade! Some of the most iconic looks are most appropriate for the gym, but we also have a prom dress, an 80’s grunge t-shirt, and a hot pink long sleeved shirt paired with a mini-skirt a really big belt.

Technical Problem-Riddled Live Broadcast Announces THREE New Expansion Packs, More

Tuesday 8th January 2013 | 9:02 pm UK time | Categories

A live broadcast riddled with technical problems announced an insane THREE more expansion packs earlier, as well as featuring a demo of The Sims 3 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff. The broadcast started close to half-an-hour late them having seemingly given up updating the Origin page, so it was tough if you weren’t following them (or me) on Twitter or something. Technical problems continued with echoing and other issues cropping up.

Anyway, when it finally started first was the 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff demo. As there was a break after this for some reason this has ended up its own video which you can see here:

The rest of the broadcast can be seen below — a breakdown follows (click read more if you can’t see it).

Associate Producer Discusses 70s Items In 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff

Tuesday 11th December 2012 | 5:35 pm UK time | Categories

Associate Producer Sarah Holding has posted a new blog entry on TheSims3.com discussing 70s items in The Sims 3 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff:

The women have some equally great clothing options too. There is a t-shirt I love that has three stencils: a roller skate, a bicycle and a popsicle. I think it’s an awesome piece for child Sims. And, of course, there are bell bottoms! Not only are these flared legged pants a blast from the past but with their recent revival in today’s fashion, they work for modern looking Sims as well.

Maxis Live Broadcast Demos Seasons, Reveals 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, Hints At Next Expansion Pack

Tuesday 9th October 2012 | 11:00 pm UK time | Categories

If you missed the Maxis Live Broadcast entirely, or just missed the beginning because they took their time adding the player to the UK page (me), it’s now available to watch on demand right here. There’s a demo of The Sims 3 Seasons three minutes in, but that’s not all — a new town to be made available on The Sims 3 Store was revealed about one hour nine and a half minutes in; a free magazine for iPads and Android tablets was announced about one hour seven and a half minutes in; the next stuff pack, to be called 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, was revealed about one hour 12 minutes in; plus there was a bit of a hint of the next expansion pack right at the end.
