More Late Night previews, a new Deluxe edition revealed, some
confessions and more
“thesims4.com”
Registered
The Sims 3 may have only been released not much more than a year ago,
but EA is already looking ahead: they’ve registered “thesims4.com”. This
is probably just to stop anyone else snapping it up, so don’t go
assuming they’ll be announcing The Sims 4 anytime soon! The domain is
registered until 9th April 2012, but they can renew it so that probably
doesn’t mean anything.
Americans! Now You Too Can (Legitimately) Get The EV Pack!
Remember the Renault Twizy Z.E., which was
made available on The Sims 3 Store as a free download
accompanied by a “bonus EV pack”? Do you also remember that those in
the US and Canada weren’t allowed to download it (at least according
to the terms)? Well those in the US at least (sorry Canadians) can
now get their hands on that EV pack – but with a different car: the
third generation Toyota Prius. To celebrate 10 years of the Prius,
the download also comes with a celebration pack which contains a
balloon, some fireworks, and some shirts. This offer is “only valid
in the US”, so take advantage, Americans (not to say there’s
necessarily anything to stop others downloading it…)!

The Developers Of The Sims 3 Confess
All
The developers of The Sims 3 have “confessed” about how they
play the game in a new video:
EA want your confessions too – upload a video to YouTube then
email them a link at SimsConfessions@ea.com. They’ll add their
favourites to a playlist.

Get Their Late Night Preview On
Following on from IGN’s preview of The Sims 3 Late Night last
issue, GamePro, GamesRadar and GameSpot have all now posted their
own. Let’s start with a quote from GamePro’s:
The Mixology skill is a new way to get famous, however, with
Sims learning recipes from drinking strange drinks and finding,
buying, or growing ingredients for cocktails on their own./p>
GamesRadar’s preview is fairly short, but is probably still worth
a look:
Oxygen bars seem to be making a comeback in Late Night too;
we saw one in almost every bar we visited. Different flavors of
oxygen affect your Sim’s mood in different ways, so you can
actually use them to facilitate whatever other activities you
want your Sim to partake in.
If you prefer to take a more traditional job approach and
start from the bottom, there’s a film career to pursue that
allows you to branch off on different paths as an actor or a
director. You’ll earn different rewards at the end, such as a
director’s chair or your very own trailer where you can throw
star tantrums.
There’s also a couple of new screenshots, though they might once
again just be stills from the trailer – go to the Screenshots tab to
view them:
