New Town To Be Made Available At The Sims 3
Store
A
new town will be made available at The Sims 3 Store in the autumn
(fall), called Barnacle Bay:
An island nestled in the Simuyan Sea, Barnacle Bay is a vibrant
vacation getaway with stunning beaches, campgrounds, parks, and a
curiously modern downtown. First settled by pirates, fisherman and
artists — the world’s inhabitants now enjoy relaxing at Smuggler’s
Beach and letting loose at The Wanderer’s Watering Hole. Will your
trip be a vacation or a staycation?

GamesRadar Focuses On Vampires In A New
Late Night Preview
GamesRadar has posted a new preview of The Sims 3 Late Night,
focusing on the vampires:
There’s something off about the color of her skin and when we
zoom in for a closer look, we can see a hint of fang in her grin
just below her smoldering bloodshot eyes. [Grant] Rodiek draws
attention to his Sim’s moodlet. “Basically, when you’re around
vampires you don’t know, your Sim gets a moodlet called
‘Hunted.’ And this is to encourage you to either leave or to
befriend them – because once you befriend them, you won’t get
this anymore. And of course, if you’re a vampire, you won’t be
‘Hunted’ you will be the ‘Hunter’.”
New The Sims 3 Game Update Makes It
Possible To Be Friends With Cars, More
Another The Sims 3 game update has been released, to coincide
with the launch of Fast Lane Stuff. It adds a couple of new
features that relate to that pack, in fact:
New Features
Sims that drive extensively can now develop a
relationship with their vehicles. Vehicles can be named
once a friendship is formed.
The Vehicle Enthusiast Trait is now available. Sims
with this trait can name their vehicles immediately and
develop relationships with them more quickly.
There’s also a small number of updates for the base game and
World Adventures – to read them, plus that all-important checklist
that must be run through before installing, click below and scroll
down to the article titled “Game Update for:
1.15/2.10/3.6/4.3″ (can’t find it? Switch to English > United States

Late Night will have a “hotspot” system that highlights which

up to five levels of notoriety (indicated by a 5-star meter that
floats above each one’s head).

Current Poll Extended To 18th September
I’ve extended the current poll, asking whether the title “The
Sims 3 Late Night” sounds like it should end with “Stuff” to you, to
18th September as I haven’t received enough votes. That’s now the
day I’ll reveal the final results – if enough visitors have voted
anyway - but the results as they stand now are available at the
bottom of this News Email.

IGN Has A Q&A About Barnacle Bay
IGN has posted a Q&A with EA about
Barnacle Bay, the new town that will be made available on The Sims 3
Store (though they seem to think it’s a full-on expansion pack
as they’ve created a game page for it and everything):
IGN: What kind of loot will you be able to find?
EA: There are hidden insects, fish, gem and mineral spawners all
over the island for explorer Sims to find. There is even a
secret Pirate’s Hideaway, but I’m not telling you where it is.
You have to explore the island to find it yourself.
