Game Rant Reviews Barnacle Bay
Game
Rant has posted a review of Barnacle Bay, the new town available to
purchase and download from The Sims 3 Store. They gave it a score of
four out of five:
It would have been a bit more interesting for EA to implement
some pirate-like features and attitudes, but the new items are
worth the price if you are a fan of The Sims 3. This is
also coming from a person who feels the items for your Xbox Live
avatar that cost money are absolutely ridiculous. Overall, it’s
a great add-on and will hold you over until the Late Night expansion
is released October 26.
They’re also running a competition on Twitter to win a download
of the town – details at the bottom of the page.

MCV Interviews Rod Humble About 10
Years Of The Sims
MCV has posted an interview with Rod Humble about the past and
future of The Sims:
After the experience of The Sims Online, are there
plans afoot to have another try at it with a new version,
perhaps?
For us The Sims community is such a large and powerful force
that we are constantly looking at ways to bring greater delight
to our audience through social and online features. I certainly
do not rule a new purely online experience.
A “five-second fact” at the end refers to The Sims 3 World
Adventures as “forthcoming”, suggesting this interview appeared in
the magazine about a year ago, although a mention of the PlayStation
Move by Humble contradicts that, as that was only named in March.
Whenever the interview took place though, it’s probably still worth
a read.

Current Poll Extended To 16th October
As I hadn't received enough votes yet, I extended the
current poll (Does the title “The Sims 3 Late Night” sound like it
should end with “Stuff” to you?) to 16th October. The final results
will be revealed on that date on the website and in the next issue
of the News Email.
Band Life In Late Night Explained In
New “Producer’s Blog”
A new “Producer’s Blog” has been posted on TheSims3.com
explaining band life in The Sims 3 Late Night:
The Band career is flexible and full of possibilities in The
Sims 3 Late Night. Buy one of four new instruments and your
Sims can play in anything from a jazz band to a rock band.
There’s a double bass, keyboard or piano, and a drum kit. Your
Sims must learn to play an instrument first because really, what
kind of band leader doesn’t know basic scales.

GamesRadar Has An Exclusive Q&A About
Bands In Late Night
GamesRadar has
posted an exclusive Q&A with associate producer Melanie Lam about
bands in The Sims 3 Late Night – how to start them, what instruments
are available, what venues can be played at, etcetera:
GR: Does your relationship with your band members
have any impact on the band itself? Will there be consequences
to thoughtless ‘woohoo-ing’ with your band mates?
Lam: While your relationship does not affect
the amount of money you earn or the gigs you get, as the leader
of the band, you can ‘manage the band’ by kicking out members
you no longer want. This can have a negative effect on
your relationship for sure!
The article includes three new screenshots, which you can also
view on the Screenshots tab if you prefer (update of Thursday 30th
September).
