Metacafe Talks Showtime With Aaron
Conners
Metacafe has posted a video interview with The Sims 3 Showtime
Senior Designer Aaron Conners. I’m not sure there’s any new details,
but it’s pretty short so you’d probably might as well watch it (the
stuff directly below the video player came with the embed code):
Ryan Vaughan Discusses The Sims 3 Game Updates In New Blog Post
The Sims 3 lead producer Ryan Vaughan has posted a new blog entry
on TheSims3.com in which he discusses game updates:
As with any new release within The Sims 3 series,
there will be a new The Sims 3 Game Update available to
all players who have The Sims 3, regardless if you’ve
installed The Sims 3 Showtime. This Game Update will be
available the same day that The Sims 3 Showtime is
available and it doesn’t cost anything. As soon as you install
the update, you’ll be able to take advantage of the new Family
Wardrobe, Bubble Columns in build mode, and earn badges for
achievements!
Whenever we release a Game Update, we get a lot of questions
about why they are released. I thought it would be a good idea
to give you some background on why we release The Sims 3
Game Updates and all the benefits that come along with
them!
New Town Announced, Find Out More At Live Chat Tuesday
EA has announced another town to be released on The Sims 3 Store,
called Lunar Lakes. The name, picture and limited details given
suggest it’s set on another planet. And there are very limited
details, as the first I’ve heard of it is in the page for a live
chat about the town which will take place on Tuesday at 10 am PST
(that’s 6 pm GMT/UTC), and that doesn’t say much at all about the
town itself. So I guess we can find out about it by watching the
show. You can see the aforementioned picture and register for a
reminder email on the page.

well a look at the new social features. Go to the page to sign up

The Guardian And IGN Preview Showtime, Plus New Video
The Guardian has posted a hands-on preview of The Sims 3
Showtime:
Acrobats, for instance, begin as mime artists, mastering
basic balance ball tricks and flips before moving onto fully
customised stadium shows. Magicians get to invest in new props
like the Box of Mystery or Swords of Destiny. Singers meanwhile
unlock new props, costumes and tracks – something expanded on in
the limited edition box that features licensed material from
Katy Perry, no doubt the first in a string of celebrity
endorsements.
Your sims can live out their fantasies in their current
towns, where new venues will be added for performing, or you can
jump into an all new area called Starlight Shores. Starlight
Shores still allows your sims to have typical jobs like fireman
and office worker, but is full of venues to cater to your
performer’s needs.. Newly created sims will also have more
options to tailor their personality and desires to that of a
performer. For instance a goal might pop up to make a certain
amount of cash doing street performances, or to impress a
certain sim with their skills.
IGN has also got hold of a new “gameplay” video. It’s included in
the preview, but you can also watch it here if you prefer (the link
below the player came with the embed code):
EA has posted renders of some of the new items in The Sims 3
Showtime onto their The Sims 3 Facebook page, including a DJ booth,
a stage, the mechanical bull, the photo booth, and a pool table.
