Technical Problem-Riddled Live Broadcast Announces THREE New Expansion Packs, More

A live broadcast riddled with technical problems announced an insane THREE more expansion packs earlier, as well as featuring a demo of The Sims 3 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff. The broadcast started close to half-an-hour late them having seemingly given up updating the Origin page, so it was tough if you weren’t following them (or me) on Twitter or something. Technical problems continued with echoing and other issues cropping up.

Anyway, when it finally started first was the 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff demo. As there was a break after this for some reason this has ended up its own video which you can see here:

The rest of the broadcast can be seen below — a breakdown follows (click read more if you can’t see it).

After the break (and the aforementioned echoing problem) the next expansion pack was announced — the previously-hinted-at The Sims 3 University Life, which will be released 5th March (probably later in the week outside North America), with a trailer shown and a demo taking place. See all this starting about one minute in to the video above (the trailer can also be viewed separately below). There’s also a short question-and-answer session about 34 minutes 40 seconds in.

If one new expansion pack wasn’t enough, another one was announced for June at about 28 minutes 20 seconds in: The Sims 3 Island Paradise, which will feature new worlds consisting of multiple islands that can be travelled between using boats — you can even build your own house boats. Sims can also go snorkelling and scuba diving. A “resort system” will allow you to build and run your own resort.

If even TWO new expansion packs wasn’t enough, at about 32 minutes 40 second in (if you’re skipping straight there, ignore the screenshot on the screen which is from Island Paradise) presenter Ryan Vaughn apparently felt bad about all the technical problems and decided to reveal the next expansion pack after Island Paradise. The pack doesn’t have a name yet but will let players take their Sims into the future.

The next stuff pack, also without a name as yet, was also revealed at about 33 minutes 35 seconds in (again, if your skipping straight there, ignore the screenshot on the screen).

There was also a bit about Sim City about 23 minutes 40 seconds in, though you can’t actually hear some of what he says as the University Life trailer starts playing again and they don’t notice until after he finishes.
