Of the seven expansions that have been released for The
Sims 3, Supernatural is among the best: it adds a
staggering amount of new content and changes the way the
entire game is played.
All in all, Supernatural may be my favorite expansion so
far for The Sims 3. It gives enough options so that you
really try something new, though it does border on
having too many options.
I can really only recommend this to fans of the
supernatural, as the expansion completely alters the
game dynamics. If that’s you, then plenty of new modes
and customizations make this expansion well worth the
extra dough.
Overall, however, there’s way more good in this game
than bad. It’s a ton of fun to play and I really enjoyed
it. Die-hard Sims fans who loved the way things were may
not enjoy it as much, but for those looking for some
extended casual fun this has great potential to be a
favorite game.
This expansion had practically no downside for someone
wanting to add a little spice (or with regards to the
ghost chili, a LOT of spice) to their game, even if they
don’t want to experience the supernaturals.
Supernatural doesn’t augment your Sims or make the
neighborhood more interesting: it turns it into an
unrecognizable mess that doesn’t even come close to
resembling the “life simulator” it’s supposed to be.
I’ve been playing Supernatural for the better part of a
week now, and it’s still surprising and delighting me
with its cheery take on magic, horror and gothic. It’s
an expansion in the very best sense, and now up at the
top of my list of Sims 3 must-haves. Definitely
recommended.
EA should be commended on another fun Sims adventure
with great gameplay and graphics. My one wish for this
franchise is to make The Sims franchise online which
would combine all the elements of the games into one
mega social experience. Nonetheless, The Sims 3
Supernatural is a must have game to all fans of this
series!
Creating new and exciting families of ghosts and fairies
is now a reality. It is a pity that the game is not as
hard hitting as proper zombie, vampire and werewolf
games can and should be, but it still is a whole lot of
fun.
If you can look past the issues surrounding the zombies
and the lunar cycles, The Sims 3: Supernatural provides
one of the richest experiences the latest outing of the
beloved franchise has offered in years.
Overall, this expansion adds a lot of fun and humorous
new character options, interactions, animations, items,
and storytelling potential to discover in the game and
continues in the franchise’s high standards as far as
style and sound and graphics quality.
Luckily, the new, magically endowed racial types and the
all-around additions to interactions, lifetime rewards,
and purchasable items make the expansion park worth it,
though the $39.99 price tag is slightly steep
considering that the base game is only $29.99 at the
moment. Still, The Sims 3 Supernatural works its magic
enough that all Sims 3 fans should be left spellbound.
While it might have its share of annoyances, the
positives outweigh the negatives in The Sims 3:
Supernatural. It’s one of the strongest expansions for
the core game yet, and might even give lapsed players a
reason to return to the game.
So far, I'm really enjoying Supernatural.
Those hoping for a few new, fun ways to play The
Sims 3 should like what Supernatural has
to offer. The werewolves hunt and howl. The witches
charm and curse. The vampires stalk and bite. The
fairies fly and make mischief. And much in the way
the previous expansion packs have given us new ways
to engage our Sims (and ourselves), Supernatural
builds onto the base game, offering new options,
objects and challenges.
